L Hist 5 Tablet 15's belongs to a group of medicines called antihistamines. It is used to treat various allergic conditions such as hay fever(an allergy caused by pollen or dust), conjunctivitis(red, itchy eye), some skin reactions such as eczema(dermatitis), hives(red, raised patches or dots), and reactions to bites and stings. It also relieves watery eyes, runny nose, sneezing, and itching.It contains levocetirizine, a non-drowsy antihistamine. It's less likely to make you feel sleepy than some other antihistamines. However, some people still find it makes them feel quite sleepy, which is used to treat allergies as it blocks the effects of a chemical messenger known as histamine, which is naturally involved in allergic reactions. L Hist 5 Tablet 15's is an R-enantiomer of cetirizine primarily used to treat various kinds of allergies. Common side effects of L Hist 5 Tablet 15's

Patients should be cautioned against getting engaged in work which requires too much mental alertness, like operating machinery or driving a motor vehicle after intake of L Hist 5 Tablet 15's. Concurrent use of L Hist 5 Tablet 15's with alcohol or other antidepressants should be avoided as it can reduce your mental alertness.L Hist 5 Tablet 15's can also be taken under medical supervision by children aged 1 year and older. Patients should avoid taking overdosage of L Hist 5 Tablet 15's because of the increased risk of sleepiness and drowsiness at higher doses.
Driving
L Hist 5 Tablet 15's may decrease alertness, affect your vision or make you feel sleepy and dizzy. Do not drive if these symptoms occur.
Kidney
L Hist 5 Tablet 15's should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of L Hist 5 Tablet 15's may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of L Hist 5 Tablet 15's is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
L Hist 5 Tablet 15's is safe to use in patients with liver disease. No dose adjustment of L Hist 5 Tablet 15's is recommended.
Alcohol
L Hist 5 Tablet 15's may cause excessive drowsiness with alcohol.
Pregnancy
L Hist 5 Tablet 15's is generally considered safe to use during pregnancy. Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effects to the developing baby; however, there are limited human studies.
Breast feeding
L Hist 5 Tablet 15's is probably safe to use during breastfeeding. Limited human data suggests that the drug does not represent any significant risk to the baby.
Larger doses or more prolonged use of L Hist 5 Tablet 15's may cause drowsiness and other effects in the baby or decrease the milk supply
